Bobcat Lax News
April 24, 2012
The past two weekends have been great weekends to be Bobcat lacrosse fans. Two weekends ago the Bobcats took down in state rival; Montana Grizzlies for the second time this season (12-8), conference rivals Regis Rangers (18-2), and Central Washington (28-0). This three game weekend was followed up by another stellar performance this past weekend down in Colorado.
On April 21st the Bobcats took down UNC for the first time in 5 years. In what has always been a bitter rivalry MSU jumped on the lead early and never looked back. Nick Soter led the team with three goals, while Michael Bechler and Ben Heisey each tallied two. Other goal contributors were Paul Mariani, Connor Dack, and Ben Weber. It was a complete team effort with minimal penalties, tenacity on ground balls and another phenomenal game by goalie Josh Stevens. The final score: Bobcats 10 Bears 9.
Following the exciting win over UNC the boys played Metro State for a chance to sweep the RMLC east division. With morale high and the “battleship” rolling in the Bobcats did just that. The offense shelled Metro States goalies for four quarters sinking Metro 16-6. Paul Mariani led the assault with 6 goals while Ben Heisey, Matt Richards, Connor Dack, and Nick Soter each found the back of the net twice. Other notable scores were defensemen Andrew Johnson and freshman attack Matt Jeffreys. The stingy Bobcat defense effortlessly took the ball away and didn’t allow the Roadrunners to score till middle of the 3rd quarter. The Bobcats defense has played high caliber ball all season and ended the regular season with a great performance.
The regular season couldn’t have ended on a better note. The Bobcats finished their regular season 11-3 and were 4-0 in the RMLC east giving them the #1 seed for conference playoffs. This record is the best the Bobcats have ever attained and is a direct result of all the hard work and dedication the team has put in this year. The Bobcats would like to thank all the parents and students for their unrelenting support, it has meant a lot to us and we truly appreciate it. Hope to see you in Grand Junction, Colorado.
Bring on the playoffs!

Playing Lacrosse at MSU is a unique opportunity How many lacrosse players in the country can wake up, go to practice for two hours, eat breakfast, and then drive 20 miles to the closest world class ski hill? At the very least the members of the MSU lacrosse team can! The Bozeman area is home to
Bridger Bowl,
Big Sky, and
Moonlight Basin ski resorts. We also know how to compete. We finished our 2010 season #26 in the final Prodigy Lacrosse Poll and we are currently ranked #17 going into the 2011 season by
